Arachnids, insects, true bugs… oh my! Cheryl and the Bug Chicks, Jess and Kristie, really opened our world to the miniatures that crawl on our floors, hang in webs, are birthed from egg sacks, and fly… metamorphosis and life cycles amaze us! We love the tickly sensations of the critters on our skin, the excitement of hatching, and the thrill of predator-prey relationships.  WOW!  Cockroaches, mealworms, and praying mantis make such incredible subjects for classroom inquiries!  Older entomologists took lecture notes, made a large research matrix, created expert information pages on individual insects, used intersecting circle strategies to write comparison-contrast papers, designed classification diagrams, delivered practiced speeches, and made gigantic model-sculptures to awe and amaze us all!
