Children are naturally scientists – dynamic theorists engaged in lively inquiries, seeking to explain our world and their place in it. The Exploratorium is full of materials, equipment, and resources that allow children to fully explore questions. Measuring and magnifying devices, collections of objects and observational equipment, manipulatives for numerical representation and a wide array of gadgetry are readily accessible to launch, pursue and explain investigations in the areas of earth physical, biological and mathematical sciences. In partnership with adults, children learn to use tools and processes employed in the lab and the field.
